Week 51: Otra Semana de Exito

This week was super great. We had some great experiences and I am always excited to share with all of you. We had a family baptism this week and it was great. The Parral Family got baptized and it was a cool experience. The water was FREEZING. I got in to baptize the mom and is almost blind so she almost doesnt see. I helped her in and when she stepped in the water she said NO NO it was kinda of hilarious. When I baptized her son Kevin, when the doors closed he jumped back in and started to swim jajajaja. Everything went well. One of my favorite experiences this week (other than the baptisms) was one of the lessons we had. We had put a goal to find a family of 4 and at the end of the day we went with one investigator. The investigator was there but she had to go to work so she left us there with her family. We decided to teach something and it was literally one of the coolest lessons I have ever had. In almost every house in Mexico, there is a painting of the Last Supper. In this house there was one too but we are talking lifestyle people. Peter in the painting was about the size of me. It was pretty rad becuase we just started teaching about the Last Supper and the Sacrament and everything Jesus Christ taught his Apostles in that story. It was a cool teaching reference because we were right next to it and seriously I dont know why but something different happened this time and it was seriously so rad. I am terrible at memorizing scriptures but I do have some memorized. When I was teaching a ton of scriptures came to my mind. I recited a bunch of scriptures from memory in the lesson that had to do with what we were teaching and everyone was super interested. At the very end of the lesson we invited everyone to pray about the message. After thinking for a while one of the members said straight up front no. My companion and I sat there for a second super confused. I asked "What would stop you from asking?" They sat there and they both said "Well we believe you!" We all sat there laughing. We end the powerful lesson with one of the brothers saying the prayer and he said "I thank thee Heavenly Father for sending these missionaries to my home because they have brought me a lot of peace and I wasnt doing very well and I needed." We left super happy. The last experience we had that I really liked was yesterday. We were busting it in the morning to find all of our investigators and getting them ready for church. We didnt have time to pass by for one of our investigators that is going to get baptized this week and we were bummed because we thought he wasnt going to go or he had forgotten. When we got to the chapel he was already there sitting. It was a small blessing but something we were pretty worried about. We are always so thankful to be in this work and to be at the front row seat seeing people learning about the Gospel. I hope all of you have a great new year and set high goals. I love you all!
